The sensitivity adjustment component allows you to detect low voltage from only 12 VAC to up to 600 VAC, for standard residential connections. Because it's non-contact you never risk touching live wires in order to determine the presence of voltage and the unit provides both a 360 deg bright red light and an audible beeping indication of the presence of voltage.
